KGQuant Excel Add-in

Getting started

1. Open Excel and launch the KGQuant add-in from the Home ribbon or the Office Add-ins menu.
2. Sign in with your KGQuant account. If your organization uses API keys, paste your KGQuant API key in the advanced sign-in option.
3. Select a process project from the project picker. The add-in remembers your last selection for the workbook session.
4. Describe what you want to model or analyze in the chat box.
5. Optionally upload the selected spreadsheet range or a data file when the add-in asks for data.
6. Click Run simulation when the project is ready.

Results written to Excel

When a run completes, the add-in creates or refreshes KGQuant result sheets in the workbook.

• KGQ Dashboard: headline KPIs, bottlenecks, recommendations, and a process map.
• KGQ Process Detail: detailed KPI tables by process object type.
• KGQ Time Series: queue, utilization, and work-in-process charts.
• KGQ Process Map: an authenticated process-map image with legend and overlay key.

Rerunning a simulation refreshes these KGQuant sheets instead of creating duplicate copies.

Using spreadsheet data

Select the range you want KGQuant to inspect before sending it from the add-in. The add-in reads the selected cells only when you choose to upload or include that data in the conversation.

For larger datasets, use the file upload option where available. Keep the workbook open while KGQuant uploads data, runs the simulation, and writes results back.

Troubleshooting

• Sign-in fails: confirm your KGQuant account is active, then sign out and sign in again.
• Project list is empty: create a process project in KGQuant or start a new conversation in the add-in.
• Run button is disabled: select a process project and make sure the add-in has opened the project successfully.
• Results are missing: wait for the "results workbook" status to finish before closing Excel.
• Rate limit or service unavailable: wait a few minutes and retry the request.
